Extra Small is intended for a newborn and fits low, below the naval, to keep the umbilical area dry.  This diaper is designed to fit during that itty-bitty newborn stage. Small is slightly larger with a higher rise than the Extra Small.  It is intended for after your baby's umbilical cord has fallen off.

bumGenius! Bamboo Fitted Diaper Care Instructions:
Shake solids into toilet and store in dry pail.  Fasten tabs to laundry tabs on inside of diaper.  Wash once in cold water with no more than 1/4 (high efficiency machines) to 1/2 (top loading, regular machines) of the detergent's recommended amount per load.  Wash once in hot (up to 120 degrees) water with no more than 1/4 (high efficiency machines) to 1/2 (top loading, regular machines) of the detergent's recommended amount per load.  Add an extra rinse to remove any lingering detergent in the diapers.  Tumble dry on the warm setting.  No bleach, no fabric softeners.
