The detergent you use with your cloth diapers is probably the single most important thing about caring for them. You need to make sure that your detergent is free of dyes, perfumes, fabric softeners, and actual soap. Water quality also plays a role in whether a detergent will work well for you when washing your diapers. If your diapers are leaking but the absorbent part is not saturated and/or you have odor issues, you may want to think about trying a different detergent.
