great especially if you start with newborn (less than 3 mo) Review by hrh
we started baby1 in cloth at 5 mo and i didn't have patience for prefolds/covers bc she was already very active, and not accustomed to cloth, so we did pockets or snap in inserts. with baby2 we knew ahead that we would use cloth, so i started with side-snap covers and prefolds. sometimes i trifold, sometimes i angel-wing, and sometimes i twist them in center...now that baby2 is almost 7 mo, I just trifold them with a snap on cover. Bc she started with cloth, she is not hard to diaper even now that she is active/wiggly. We are still using the same size (infant premium unbleached) that we bought at her birth. for the first 6-8 weeks we used them "side-ways" so that they were shorter rise, but now we use them the "normal direction". they are the best! you could pay tons for fancy pocket diapers and special inserts (and we DID for baby1) but i now believe that at least the first 6-12 months you can easily use prefolds. I do recall that baby1 became a super heavy wetter sometime between 12 and 18 mo and needed extra layers of protection...so i will have to wait and see what i think of prefolds at that age with baby2 when we get there.
